Dental implants are often the best treatment for the replacement of missing teeth.  The dental implants are surgically placed in the jawbone and, unlike dentures and bridges, do not damage the surrounding teeth and bone structure or slide around in the mouth.  Implants look and function like natural teeth.

IMPLANT PROCESS

A consultation appointment will be done with you to discuss the procedure and answer any questions you might have. Once it has been determined that a dental implant is the correct choice for you, Dr. Hoffmann will be coordinating with your dentist from start to finish to make sure everything is taken care of for you. 

Once you have decided to proceed with your dental implant, Dr. Hoffmann will perform the surgical portion of the procedure, meaning he will place the titanium implant in your jaw which will act as the anchor for the tooth.  This can be done with either a general anesthetic or a local anesthetic. 

A period of 4-5 months is necessary to let the bone integrate with the implant to ensure a solid base.  At that time, you will see your dentist who will proceed to place the crown (tooth portion) on the implant.
